On 06 May 2025, the Supreme Court of the United States granted the U.S. Government's requested stay of the preliminary injunction in Shilling v. United Sates. Therefore, in accordance with REF (A) and in alignment with REFs (B) and (C), the Coast Guard is resuming implementation of the transgender service policy guidance announced in REF (E). REF (F) is canceled. 2. Effective immediately, all new enlisted and officer accessions for individuals with a history of gender dysphoria, as well as all unscheduled, scheduled, or planned medical procedures associated with affirming or facilitating a gender transition for Service members, are paused. 3. For the purposes of this guidance, these procedures include unscheduled, scheduled, or planned genital reconstruction surgery associated with gender transition, gender affirming surgery, sex reassignment surgery, or newly initiated gender‐affirming hormone therapy. 4. The Service remains engaged with the Department of Defense to ensure alignment and clarity as transgender service policy continues to evolve. The Coast Guard recognizes the service and commitment of all personnel, including those with a diagnosis or history of gender dysphoria. All members will continue to be treated with dignity and respect. 5.
